The table gives permissible spans in metres
for stress limit, or specified deflection limit.
Wind loads should be calculated in
accordance with CP3 Chapter V, Prt2: 1977.
When wind loading governs the design a 25%
increase in permissible stress is allowed. The wind load can
be multiplied by a factor of 0.8 before entering the tables.
Snow load is 0.75 kN/m2 for sloping roofs up
to and including 10 deg. (BS6399 : Part 1: 1984).

The load span tables have been calculated in
accordance with European Recommendations for the design of
profiled sheeting. ECCS-TC7-1983 which uses an effective
width approach for flanges in compression and are based on a
minimum bearing surface of 50mm.
