useful when weight is a major concern. For example Park Homes &

established standard for Industrial & Commercial use.

TILE SIZES
The standard tile
length is 350mm long and suitable for the average size roof. On

FIXING
Treat & fix
Versasteel as you would any
other plastisol sheets. Place the fixings in the valleys just
below the step in the tiles. Fixings can just be seen in the top
right photo. The fixings on the top of the
tiles are side seam stitchers. |

HANDLING VERY
LONG LENGTH SHEETS When unloading the delivery vehicle, general handling and placing on roof. It is advisable to keep Versa-steel sheets as flat as possible and not allow them to droop either side of say a narrow forklift truck. AT SLE Cladding we are concerned that a large heavy drooping pack may cause the folds that form the tile shapes to distort slightly, which may then cause a problem in fitting the sheets. This is only a concern and not a proven fact, but do bear our concern in mind should you be handling long lengths of Versa-steel sheets. |

| ORDERING. Versasteel is not a stock item. Each order is manufactured to customers required lengths and colours. |

General Fixing Instructions Pitch of roof. Versasteel can be laid on roofs with a minimum pitch of 10 deg. with a sealed side lap. Side lap. The normal side lap is one corrugation. The tightness of this joint can be improved by fixing the side laps with teks or seam stitchers at 350mm centres. End lap. The design of Versasteel tiling provides an end lap of 75mm. Jointing is made by fixing through each end lap.Chimneys, pipes and other penetrations. Special care should be given to waterproofing around chimneys, pipes etc. S.L.E. Cladding LTD can supply a “Lead Look” self-adhesive flash band as well as rolls of flat lead. Cone shaped pipe flashings (hot or cold) are also available Cutting and drilling. Lay the sheet on a flat surface and carefully mark out the areas to be cut. Cutting can be done with an electric jigsaw, a tungsten carbide faced blade is better than a toothed metal cutting blade. For any minor cutting a keyhole saw or a good pair of tin snips is quite adequate. Fixings The fixing is normally made by tek screws, which are fixed through the base of each corrugation. The number of fixings required depends on the wind loading and other factors. SLE Cladding recommend a 40mm Tek screw with appropriate Colour Cap in the base of every corrugation on every purlin run.
