DECEUNINCK'S DEEPLAS INSTALLATION GUIDE |

| Decor panels can be fitted
in two ways, the preferred and recommended procedure is to us Deceuninck
30 x 20 mm PVC batten P9050 or 38 x 25mm timber batten with staples or
nails. This method makes no allowance for the fixing surface being true
and therefore guarantees a good finish. Alternatively the panels can be fitted directly on to the wall/ceiling if it is deemed sufficiently true. This can be done by using a high tack MS-Polymer based flexible glue in a zig-zag pattern every 300 mm. If using this method always ensure that the fixing surface is sound, this can be achieved by either treating porous areas with a suitable primer or by using a damp course membrane. If fixing to tiles use a solvent free adhesive to avoid solvent "entrapment". Ventilation is recommended in humid areas. Decor panels should not be fitted close to appliances producing heat or where there is a risk of panels being exposed to heat in excess of 60 deg. C. For panels being fitted vertically, the battens must be fixed horizontally. For Internal or external corners not at 90 deg. a cut can be made along the length of the panel in the rear face allowing the panel to bend. Be careful not to cut or score the outer top face whilst carrying out this procedure. For shower locations we recommend a flush finish panel as this will naturally offer an improved seal and will also be easier to clean as opposed to a panel with a feature groove. We also recommend a bead of mould resistant silicone be run along the inside of the tongue and groove detail. Be sure to seal all remaining exposed joints in the same way.
USEFUL TIPS Handling & Storage - With the products remaining in their polythene sleeves. Unload by hand to avoid any damage and stack horizontally on a firm surface. Stacks should not exceed one metre in height. Cutting - Cladding should be cut with a fine toothed saw. Wear a course particle dust mask and eye protection whilst doing so. However please be aware that PVC-U dust does not impose any special hazard. Maintenance - Decor panels should be cleaned using a standard household detergent and water. Solvents or abrasives should not be used. Damaged sections can be replaced, but will require the removal of adjacent planks. |
