POLYCARBONATE SHEETING

Insulating glazing sheets, manufactured from damage resistant polycarbonate with added co-extruded long life protection from UV weathering.

Polycarbonate is well known for its high impact strength - up to 200 times greater than glass - resistance, optical clarity and excellent flame retardance making it the ideal medium for domestic, leisure and industrial glazing applications.

Fire tested to BS 476 Pt.7 (Class 1). Polycarbonate Only.

TYPE & USES. The 6, 8 & 10mm are  used in office partitions, green houses, cold frames, porches, carports etc and general DIY. The 16mm Triplewall in clear, bronze & bronze opal and other grades is the most popular gauge in general use. The 25, 30, 32, & 35 mm and it's colour options tend to be used up market structures such as conservatories, swimming pools and prestige public buildings.

Twin & Triplewall Polycarbonate Fixing Buttons

Available in White and Brown for both 10 & 16 mm thick  polycarbonate sheets. The 40mm diameter buttons come complete with 50mm long screws and sealing washers.

DIY NOTE.  SLE Cladding Ltd supply your polycarbonate sheets cut to size with vanes blown clean of dust, shrink wrapped and well protected.

The sheets are supplied with a clear protective pvc film attached to both sides. The side with the fixing instructions written on the protective film is the upper side and UV protected. This film should be left in place and only  removed from both sides when the roof assembly has been completed.

Assemble by simply peeling back the protective pvc film around the edges of the sheets on both sides, just enough to allow them to be fitted into the glazing bars and to allow the fitting of other accessories.

Note sheets on which the protective pvc coating or the protective sealing tape around the edges has been removed or removed and replaced CANNOT be accepted back into stock.

A separate pricelist is available on request which includes Newdawn glazing bars

COLOUR MATCHING:

Coloured polycarbonate sheeting like all other coloured materials fades to some extent with time and exposure to sunlight. Also colours can vary in depth between different manufacturers and even  between production batches.

This problem should be considered when extending polycarbonate roofs or just replacing damaged sheets. There is little that the manufacturers or SLE Cladding Ltd can do about it. The onus being on the purchaser to ensure that the colour of the new sheets is a satisfactory match to any existing material currently in place before ordering.

Should you observe a sheet within a polycarbonate roof turning yellow with age. This is a sign that that particular sheet has been fitted upside down with the UV protection on the inside.
