SLE Cladding Ltd are not
comprehensive "Timber Merchants", but in order to meet our
customers complete cladding requirements we do stock quantities of
Home Grown Tanalised Softwood in the popular standard building
lengths.
Our supplies mostly originate from
commercial forests in Scotland ( a renewable resource) and are
thus environmentally friendly. Stocks are tanalised (treated) to
prevent decay. Untreated timber can be obtained to order in about 7 days.
WARNING.
When using tanalised treated timber purlins (Including other
proprietary brands of treatment) in conjunction with any type of
steel roofing sheets, a protective barrier MUST BE PROVIDED
between the roofing sheets and the timber purlins to avoid
corrosion to the roofing sheets. This is particularly important
for building housing any type of livestock where high levels of
condensation will be present. The barrier can be items
such as U-PVC tape, roofing felt strips or even paint.
Bitumastic paint leaves a good thick barrier
We list below our standard stock
sizes in both metric and Imperial; measurements. Other sizes can
be obtained to order, in both plain and tanalised.
NOTE. That whilst timber mills
have gone over to metric sizes, we still stock purlins in
the standard building purlin lengths of 15, 16 & 20ft.
