A lower cost colour coated roofing and cladding sheet,
Particularly suited to the agricultural sector, it being acceptable
to most Rural Planning and Nation Park Authorities. These
profiles have a prime quality polyester coating on a galvanised
substrate. Coating
thickness is approximately 25 microns on hot-dip galvanised zinc
coated steel to BS EN 10147, giving a medium life product that can
show slight chalking and colour change in high UV environments.
The
maintenance re-paint period in normal un-polluted inland
environments is about 10 years in Northern Europe and between 5 and
10 years in other regions.

Curved
Sheets.
Corrugated Polyester
sheets are available to order as curved sheets in
the 13.5 x3" corrugation in 0.7mm substrate in Country
Green and Slate Blue/Grey.

Barrier.
For a quality long lasting roof it is advisable to place a barrier
between the sheets and the purlins on which they rest to prevent any
corrosion of the sheets from the purlins. This is most important
where livestock are being housed. It applies equally to both
metal and timber purlins as timber purlins are often tanalised
(pressure treated with chemicals to prevent rot) In the case of
existing metal purlins remove any build up of rust. The barrier can
be a liberal coating of bitumen paint or plastic tape.

Handling & Stacking.
Polyester is a very
popular lower cost colour coated roofing and cladding material. Care is needed in
the handling and erection of this sheet, as its surface is more
prone to scratching than is the 200 micron thick coating of
Plastisol. Coated Steel Sheets
When stacking
the sheets, place one sheet on top of another. DO NOT
slide one sheet down the profile of another, as this will scar the
coating. The same care also applies when placing the sheets on the
roof.

Split Orders.
Beware when ordering any coated
sheeting for a project in stages separated by weeks or months. The
subsequent orders will not be cut from the same coil or group of
coils and thus there is a strong possibility that there will be a
difference in shades between orders. This is beyond the control of
both the steel manufacturer and SLE Cladding Ltd.

STORAGE. For long term storage, Polyester sheets in pack
form MUST be stored in a dry condition in a dry store.
(preferably heated).
