|
|
Unfortunately web advertised e-mail addresses
attract daily doses of the many 100's of spam and
virus laden e-mails, amongst which genuine customers e-mails are frequently lost and are deleted.
To avoid this we have taken the
unusual step of only providing an e-mail address to
customers on request. This measure whilst troublesome, is particularly
useful as the first contact and to persons
wishing to send us photographs or drawings. It does mean that your
e-mails are actually received, read and acted upon.

CATALOGUES |
|
Catalogues
are no longer produced by SLE Cladding Ltd. Experience
has shown that they are expensive and time consuming to
produce and by the time they are published they are
already out of date in some respect. |
|
|
Instead we
now rely on this website which is in fact a giant
catalogue of around 220 + web pages containing much more
information than any catalogue. This we can
update and add to, sometimes on a daily basis in response
to customers identified needs. |
|
|
For
customers without access to a computer, we identify
their requirements and print off the appropriate web
pages and post them to them. This arrangement seem to
work quite satisfactory. |
|
|
PLACING AN ORDER. |
|
Orders are taken
by Telephone, Fax, Mail or Verbally. Most orders contain
a bespoke element which is a none stock item (Sheets
manufactured to length, curved sheets, special colour or
profile etc) and thus are not readily resalable. For
these and large orders a deposit will be requested.
Customers new and unknown to SLE Cladding Ltd will be
asked to pay before delivery by Proforma Invoice. |
|
|
PAYMENT |
|
Depending on
the circumstances payment may be made by either Cash,
Cheque, Credit or Debit Card. Debit Card being the
preferred option of the two types of cards |
|
CREDIT CARD NOT PRESENT.
Security checks will
be carried out on customers ordering goods and paying
by credit or debit card over the telephone. At the time
of delivery, customer will be asked
by the driver to confirm the
credit card transaction by signing a simple form. |
|
|
COLLECTION OF GOODS.
|
|

are welcome to save money by collecting their own orders
or arrange for a haulier to collect them. To find us
click on "Location for a map and directions to find us from all parts of the UK. |
|
|
|
When collecting, do first
telephone to make sure your order has been assembled or
has
come into stock, even if proposing to cold call to pick
up some small item of the shelf, it is always best to
first telephone and check that it is readily available. |
|
|
DELIVERY BY CARRIER. |
|
Certain
goods are suitable and cost effective to deliver by
carrier. These are usually small items like boxes of
screws ,nail, fixings and foam fillers etc. All
carriers now have a length limit of 2.5 metres which
in most cases prevents the quick dispatch of small
requirements of roofing sheets and barge boards etc. |

BASIC RULES
REGARDING SLE DELIVERY. |
|
SLE Cladding
Ltd operates its vehicles to the same rules as the UK's haulage industry,
which are briefly outlined below |
|
|
POINT OF
DELIVERY. is the nearest point to your desired location
at or near to your premises on a metalled surface,
tarmac, concrete, hardcore etc that the driver (In his
judgement) can safely drive the vehicle. If the vehicle
is taken beyond this point it is entirely the customers
responsibility for recovery and damage etc. |
|
|
DELIVERY.
Delivery is deemed to have taken place when the vehicle
has reached the position as per above and the driver has
removed all protective tarpaulins and securing straps.
Customers are responsible in
all cases for unloading the delivery vehicle and are
responsible for all loss of or damage to the goods
during the course of such unloading.
All SLE Cladding Ltd's drivers do their very
best to advise or assist with unloading although
they are not obliged to do so. |
|
Many
deliveries require the use of a forklift truck or 2 or
more personnel if unloaded by hand. |
|

|
You may feel
that our Credit control measures are extreme, but please
remember that we are allied to the notorious building
industry where Bankruptcy, Liquidations and Fraud are
rife. Unfortunately the 99% of genuine people and
companies have to suffer because of the rotten 1%. The
consequences of a mistake in this area can put all our
staffs jobs and future well being at risk. It is better
not to do the business if there is a risk of not being
paid.
