MULTI-POINT

Re-pointing around lead flashings

How often have you been called back to jobs to re-point after mortar has dropped off after only a few years service. The reason for this is that the lead moves with changing temperatures and after only a few days after the installation the lead will have broken away from the mortar. The problem can now be overcome simply, economically and permanently by using Multi-point. This high quality, flexible mortar provides a neat, flexible and watertight solution

  • Quick and easier than Mortar.
  • Lead Coloured.
  • No Waste.
  • Provides watertight flexible joint.
  • Economical - one tube will point approximately 8m.

APPLICATION
Remove mortar to a depth of 25mm, ensuring that the joint is dry and free from dust. Turn the lead into the brickwork and fix the lead wedges. Pump Multipoint into the joint and tool off within five minutes to the desired finish with a damp pointing iron. Multi-point can be used to form joints from 3mm to 25mm wide and 5mm to 10mm deep.

IMPORTANT NOTE
The Lead manufacturers of Multipoint Lead Sheet Sealant above, state that whilst it will bond with lead sheets and brickwork it is NOT SUITABLE for gluing both surfaces rock hard together.

A sealant and adhesive manufacturer of a similar product to Multi-Point also agree with the above and suggest using their GRIPFILL (green case) adhesive and sealing the edges to prevent the ingress of water with the Lead Sheet Sealant or a Silicone Sealant.
