Ordering and Fixing Instructions

Before ordering your Gutterline, establish the overall width required. Carefully measure.
the inside gutter profile, showing the distances between each angle change (where creases are required) and allow sufficient extra width at each side for fixing purposes.

The liner is supplied in one continuous length and an extra 30cm or so at each end should be allowed for forming end stops. (SLE Note. When fitting, finding  that your measurements are too exact can be embarrassing, so consider adding a little extra length to your measurements for peace of mind.)  Check the number, condition and internal diameter of existing outlets.

Then simply ring, fax or email us with these details and we will send you a quotation together with a free sample of Gutterline creased to your requirements so you can confirm that it fits the gutter you are repairing.

Only when you confirm that you are completely satisfied that the sample fits perfectly (make sure that you check the fit at regular intervals along the length of the gutter) will we process your order.

1. Before fitting Gutterline ensure that the gutter is thoroughly cleaned and that the outlets are smooth and round. Any upstanding protrusions such as bolts etc should be cut back and reduced as much as possible, any remaining protrusions should then be covered to protect the liner from damage. Now fix and seal the new outer thimbles into the existing rainwater outlets. 5. With Northern light type gutters. the vertical edge of the liner must be fitted well behind either the cladding, glazing or flashing or be secured in place with PCS z plates 9. Downspouts are created by cutting a small round hole in the liner above the centre of the outlet. (This will allow the split inner thimble to flange the warmed liner down into the outlet)
2. With valley gutters, the most popular method of fitting is to pass the edges of the liner over the top edge of the gutter and under the cladding sheet. Where appropriate remove and re-fit eaves closures. 6. When the liner has been fitted down the full length of the gutter, a template to the shape of the gutter end is ct from the rigid blank supplied. 10.  the liner around the hole is then thoroughly warmed using hot air.
3 Alternatively the liner may be folded back on itself, ensuring that the fold is securely fixed under the cladding with appropriate fixings. It is essential that the front edge of the liner is kept at leased 25mm back from the edge of the cladding sheet 7.  The end of the liner is warmed, folded and pressed into shape by clamping the template to the existing gutter and stop. 11. The split inner thimble is squeezed together and pressed gently into the existing outlet.
4.  With boundary wall gutters, the liner is capped- off over the top exposed edge of the gutter. 8.  When the liner has cooled and the top edge trimmed to shape, the template is replaced by the angled end stop (cut in the shape of the template from the blank supplied) and bolted securely in position 12.  In gutters with angled side outlets, an expander sleeve complete with bituminous gasket is used. It is important to ensure that the chamfered overlapping split faces the long angled side of the outlet. Alternatively moulded units can be hot air welded in situ by trained fitters.
