The Corrugated Rooflight Trap.

In the UK there are two corrugated profiles. A/. The "3" Standard Profile" now manufactured in Fibre-cement and called Profile 3 (P3) as illustrated above, and B/. The "Standard Iron Profile" as used in Plastic Coated Steel & Galvanised Steel Sheets.

The catch is that the "Iron Profile" uses 3" corrugations, whilst the "Std 3 Profile" (Profile 3) corrugation is only 2 & 5/8 inches wide.

Clear PVC and GRP sheets are manufactured in both profiles. To the naked eye they both look the same, only one profile will not fit the other profile.

Clear PVC corrugated sheets as sold in most DIY centres are almost exclusively of the "Standard 3 Profile" (for Fibre-cement) They are usually of the 0.8mm very thin gauge and thus appear very cheap. SLE Cladding Ltd whilst carrying a minimal stock of 0.8mm in the "3" Standard Profile", sells mainly both types in the thicker commercial 1.3mm gauge.
