A DIY USE OF SECONDS QUALITY COMPOSITE CLADDING

This substantial insulated garden shed / garage was built using 50mm 'Superior Seconds' quality composite panels by one man with a little help erecting the frame. Measuring 4 metres. x 4 metres x 2  metres to the eaves and 3 metres to the ridge. Flat 50mm panels were used for the sides and end and 50mm thick profiled panels for the ridge. The timber frame is 4" x3" tanalised home grown softwood with 3" x 2" purlins. The windows are of vandal proof 4mm flat polycarbonate (200 times stronger than equivalent glass). The 2" thick doors were of flat 'Plastisol' sheets on 5" x 1 1/2" tanalised timber frame and fitted with heavy duty galvanised hinges, hasp/staples. The ridge, barge, corner flashings, door and window flashing were custom-made to size by SLE Cladding Ltd. The completed structure was  painted to suit the owner's requirements and it met insurance specifications.
