COLOUR CHARTS

for Profiled & Flat Coated Steel Sheets.

CORUS (formerly British Steel) with their Colorcoat HPS200 range is a world leader for quality in Colour Coated Steels. Thus as one of our suppliers we have chosen their Colour Charts to use below. It is MOST IMPORTANT that users new to coated steels read all their notes reproduced below the charts as well as SLE Cladding Ltd's notes.

Some of the colours on these charts may not be as readily available as others; early consultation with SLE Cladding Ltd is the best way to ensure that the material you select will be available when required.

NOTE.  COLOUR CHARTS ARE FOR GUIDANCE ONLY. IF UNFAMILIAR WITH THE MATERIAL & COLOURS, ASK SLE CLADDING FOR A SMALL COLOUR & MATERIAL SAMPLE  BEFORE ORDERING.

NOTES. Colour Charts do not always reproduce true colours when scanned into a computer. If you are unfamiliar with the true colour, don't risk it. Ask SLE Cladding Ltd for a small piece of the sheet as a colour sample

Production of "Colorcoat Armacor" has ceased and is only available whilst stocks last. The colour chart and description has been left in place for product identification purposes.

Corus Colorcoat

Colorcoat is the registered trademark for the Organic coated steels manufactured solely by British Steel Strip Products. (now known as Corus). Colorcoat HPS200's formulation and testing are unique. Colorcoat is manufactured to produce consistent colours, but by the very nature of colour, some slight variation can occur between coils coated at different times.  If tonal consistency is critical, all profiles for a single elevation should come from the same production batch. This applies to all Colorcoat, but variations is more noticeable in light colours, particularly white and metallic finishes. Indeed, such colour variation between batches is characteristic of all coloured products, from wall paper to steel cladding.

IMPORTANT NOTE from SLE Cladding Ltd:  As well as Corus with their Colorcoat brand there are other companies in the UK who coat steel as well as foreign manufacturers who sell into the UK market. Most of these manufacturers produce a similar range of colours to the same BS or RAL numbers. As well as the variances in colour between coils from a single manufacturer, there can also be slight variances in shade and colour between different manufacturers. Yet all will be producing to the same BS or RAL number. This problem is sometime noticeable to the discerning eye in the different colour shading between the profiled sheets and the surrounding flashings. Regrettably there is nothing the industry or SLE Cladding can do about it.

There are many hundreds of different profiles on the UK market, produced by different rolling mills, not all of these mills buy Corus Colorcoat materials. SLE Cladding Ltd as nationwide cladding merchants, buy from these mills as well as Corus to satisfy our customer' requirements in differing profiles. Thus if a customer specifies a particular profile and HPS200 we may not be able to supply it in HPS200.
