RUFABRUSH

GENERAL PURPOSE WATERPROOF COATING FOR ROOFS.

RUFABRUSH.

DESCRIPTION. A contact grade, general purpose waterproofing material.

USES. For waterproofing all common, roofing surfaces, including mastic asphalt, roof felt, corrugated iron, fibre-cement, slates, lead, copper & zinc.

APPLICATION. Following recommended preparation. Apply two thin coatings of Rufabrush by brush. In areas likely to be by expansion and contraction, reinforce with an open woven glass fibre membrane and apply a further coat. Rufabrush cures quickly and is resistant to rain and frost during the drying process.

DRYING TIME. Under normal conditions 24 hours.

COVERAGE.  1.4 square metres per litre per coat.

SIZES. 25 Litre, 5 Litre, 2.5 Litre Tins

WATERPROOFING.  Always ensure the appropriate waterproofing product has been selected. Water based emulsions can be applied to substrates that are slightly damp whereas generally based solvent solutions need a totally dry surface. Avoid the use of emulsions if there is an imminent threat of rain, however a solvent based product such as RUFABRUSH can be used even where there is a likelihood of either rain or frost as it becomes water resistant quickly after application.

Most jobs will require two coats, with the second coat being applied at right angles to the first. These coats should not be applied too thickly and care should be taken not to allow the coating to collect at the bottom of corrugated gullies as this may result in blistering when it has fully dried. Waterproofing should extend up any adjoining vertical surface to approximately 200mm (8"). Always ensure that the roof/wall angle has a continuous coating.
