ALUMINIUM SHEETS

Profiled and flat sheets

WARNING

Aluminium flat and profiled sheets are considerably more expensive than steel based products such as Galvanised Steel, Plastic Coated Steel (Plastisol) and Polyester Coated Steel. Customers used to the steel based products tend to be frightened off by the price of Aluminium equilivent.

Architects specify it for its light weight properties and for inclusion in up market buildings of the type that win design awards. It also has niche markets for the roofs of some large industrial poultry buildings, the canopies over fuel pumps at filling stations. and by vehicle body builders.

Because of the high cost there is little demand for aluminium outside of the specialist users, thus SLE Cladding Ltd does not carry it as a stock item, but will endeavour to meet customers requirements direct from the few manufacturers who carry stocks for profiling and or coating.

Plain aluminium sheeting is available in certain profiles and thicknesses depending on the manufacturer.

Colour Coated Aluminium is available in most colours in a more limited range of profiles. (The larger aluminium profiler having special arrangements to coat with a Colour Coater)

Flat sheets and Flashings. Flat sheets for forming into flashings are also available, but not a stock item at SLE Cladding Ltd as there is little demand. We can form your own flat sheets, plain and coloured (Depending on the quality of the coating) into flashings, but we may have problems in obtaining the small quantity of flat sheet (Coloured or plain) required by a typical order. SMALL ORDERS

Small quantities (Flat or profiled) can be a problem, unless the manufacturer has another large order for the same colour, thickness and profile with which to run it, otherwise they do just not want to know a small order, or they may apply a large surcharge.
